Some alternatives could include a "last known location" marker, or the tracking of the ship alone and not the FPS character as well. So, is that fair for the hunted to be tracked 24/7 with no counterplay? I think we can agree that it's not. You may think that guy deserves it, but in reality most people with a CS are just players that do PvE missions, so, not even really bad guys, they're just following game designs. I know what you mean, but that's the point of SC, be different from what we've already seen in other games.Įspecially for PvP, you need to think at the other side: while it may be fun for you to follow a marker, the outlaw player doesn't enjoy it very much as there is little to no counterplay for that and unlike other games, we have a real punishment in game in the form of prison, which prevents the outlaw player from playing the main gameplay loops for X hours. I just want to understand if you can catch people off without waiting at one place praying they'll pass by you, either that or hoping you get a newbie on your bounty list xD Of course, i am not complaying about the game at all! So what i am wondering is: Is it possible to bounty hunt properly in the current state of the game? Meaning, can you reach to people with bounties on their heads, trusting what the marker on the map tells you? Or is the only way of getting to them currently pretty much hoping they are newbies like me, chilling in the place they got their bounty on? Basically i was staying kinda still in the place where i got the bounty on me, which i believe made it easy for that guy to come and kill me. but i am starting to feel like he only managed to kill me because i had crime stat on me by mystake by doing a contract and i was still in the same place when he got to me. I started looking into those since i was once killed by a player going after me. Like, when they land on a planet, they still show as floating near the planet, when they are on a moon, most of the times, they show to me like being close to off the map or a bunch of millions of km away from that moon, pointing towards the nothing (like going to the edges of the map). However it seems to me that most of the times the markers in the skyline map are quite off from their real position. I also think making a meaningful minigames that captures the essence of cracking a code without it being too complex for non mathematicians while at the same time not just going for and genetic puzzle game and calling it hacking minigames is going to be quite a challenge.So, i am a fairly new player, i just unlocked PVP bounties to try them out.Īs soon as i see some pop up on the contract list i accept them and track them.
